What is Little Story?
Little Story is an exclusive portrait membership for families in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire who want to document their baby's whole first year beautifully, unhurriedly, and with the same photographer at every session.
You join once. I take care of the rest.
Three portrait sessions are included in your membership, each perfectly timed to capture your baby at their most magical developmental stage. At every session you choose your images and recieve your products, there's never any pressure to spend more than you want to.

Chapter One
The Awakening
Age: 3 — 5 Months
- First real smiles
- Holding their head up

- Wide curious eyes discovering the world
- Still deliciously small and round
This is the stage nobody thinks to photograph and the one everyone wishes they had. Before the rolling, before the crawling, there was this perfectly round, utterly squishable stage where your baby first smiled at you and your whole world changed.
Chapter Two
The Sitter
Age: 6 — 9 Months
- Sitting unaided
- Giggling and responding to faces
- Grabbing everything in sight
- Personality in full bloom
- Big enough to interact, small enough to still feel like your baby
Every baby reaches this stage in their own time and we photograph yours when they're truly ready, not when the calendar says so. If your baby is sitting confidently at 6 months, we shoot at 6 months. If it's 9 months, we wait. Your baby leads. I follow.
Chapter Three ☆ Your Ending
Every Little Story ends differently. You choose yours.
The Cake Smash
Around 12 months
One whole year. One cake. Absolute chaos. The best kind. Pre-cake clean portraits, the smash itself, every messy joyful moment and a bubbly splashdown to finish.

The Generations Portrait
Up to 18 months
Everyone who loves them. In one frame. Forever. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, whoever has been part of this little one's first year, gathered together for a portrait that will hang on walls for generations.
Not sure which to choose? That's absolutely fine, you have until your second session to decide. Some families love this stage so much they do both.

The Photographer Behind Every Little Story
I'm Mel and I've been photographing families from my purpose-built studio in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent since 2013. I photograph just three babies a week because your experience matters more than my schedule.
What I love most about Little Story is watching a baby grow across a whole year. By the time we reach Chapter Three I already know their face, their expressions, and exactly what makes them smile. That continuity means something.
These aren't just photographs. They're the chapters of a story your child will one day sit and read with you.

Questions answered
When should I join Little Story?
You can join at any point during your baby's first year. Most families join after their newborn session while the excitement is fresh, but as long as your baby hasn't yet reached the sitter stage you can still join and enjoy all three chapters.
What if my baby isn't ready for their session at the suggested age?
Every baby develops differently and I will always wait until your baby is truly ready. If your baby is sitting confidently at 6 months we shoot at 6 months. If it's 9 months, we wait. Your baby always leads.
Can I add extra images at my viewing appointments?
Absolutely. As a Little Story member you receive 10% off any additional images or products at every viewing. You can also choose from our collections at your first viewing appointment spread across monthly payments interest free.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Life with a baby is wonderfully unpredictable and I completely understand. Just get in touch and we'll rearrange. No fuss, no fees.
What is the trifold vegan leather folio?
At the end of your Little Story year, once all three sessions are complete, I create a beautiful trifold vegan leather folio with one image from each chapter of your story. It's your Little Story, complete.
Can I do both the Cake Smash and the Generations portrait?
Yes! Your membership includes one Chapter Three session of your choice. If you'd love to do both, the second session can be booked separately at your member loyalty rate.
